A parka requires 80 of any textile, and 8,000 ticks ( 2.22 mins) of work. ![]() Jackets now have some niche to fill though on reasonably cold maps. A parka requires 80 of any textile, and 8,000 ticks (2.22 mins) of work. So dusters are still the most well rounded and the best on temperate and hot maps. Cloth Duster: -15C insulation, +15C heat resistance + 4 movement speed reduction. So parkas are still the worst option and you only want to use them if there's no other choice, and the cold insulation on jackets is now high enough that you can probably use them on most maps instead of parkas. Cloth is the worst protective textile in the game, with the weakest sharp and heat armor of all textiles, and zero blunt protection (a trait shared with wools ). Cloth Jacket : -15C insulation + 3 movement speed reduction. Parkas also do not protect legs interestingly. Parkas are for really cold maps, they have no heat insulation at all and have the lowest armor multiplier, but more than double the cold insulation of jackets. As far as textiles go, they all have their niche uses. Camelhair and Alpaca wool would allow for even higher. That is as long as you have the right growing season and the crops don’t die in the process. Jackets fall in between parkas and dusters but fare slightly better in colder climates. Cloth/above-average leather Parka: -40C Cloth/above-average leather T-Shirt: -3C Cloth/above-average leather Pants: -3C Cloth/above-average leather Tuque: -10C Cloth/above-average leather Cowboy hat: +9.5C Here are some values for Muffalo wool, a medial wool, for some of those items. Jackets and Dusters are pretty close, except their temps are inverted, so Dusters are better on hotter maps and Jackets are better on colder maps, with similar multipliers for insulation and armor, except jackets don't cover legs and dusters do. Method 1: Grow and Harvest Cloth with Cotton Plants This method is the most simple (almost) guaranteed way to get cloth in Rimworld. ![]() Jackets are a lot better now and parkas no longer have a workspeed penalty. SOLVED Suddenly cant craft duster/parka My crafter was doing fine until suddenly I 'Need materials' to make dusters or parka, but I can craft the other clothes with the same material (leather).
